Ok, it is HARD to narrow this one down to 15 images. This was one of the most freewheeling, craziest events I've ever shot with one of the warmest, friendliest couples ever. A deluge of rain turned what was supposed to be a sunny backyard wedding into a mudpit, with the whole wedding party pitching in to add tarps and waterproofing last minute.

Things got chaotic. The bride got some eyeliner in her eye, and instead of a first look, the groom and five other family members were huddled into the bathroom helping her to soothe it.

But this is family, and this is life. Everyone crowding together to help make the day turn out well. Everyone talking over each other and laughing and arguing and all the tensions of a wedding day merging with the sentiment, the sweetness.

And neither the chaos nor the rain stopped us from getting beautiful shots.

So we also got some lovely portraits of them, we got some family group shots. But these are the photos that stand out to me the most, because the adventure of the rain, and all the unexpected complications - that's the story they'll tell when they remember this day. Those are the photos that tell the story of this wedding in particular, and what made it so special.
